Milna

Milna is known as the most beautiful and the safest natural harbour of the island. It is a typical dalmatian settlement, with stone houses set along the bay. The town is dominated by beautiful Baroque church finished in 1783. which holds impressive works of Venetian masters. For years, Milna was known for its shipbuilding and the renowned Dalmatian boat bracera was first made here.

The municipality of Milna consists of four more villages, besides Milna. These are Ložišća, Podhume, Bobovišća and Bobovišća na moru. Surrounding bays and beaches with crystal-clear waters and possibilities for active holidays make Milna perfect tourist destination.

Some of the sights to visit while in Milna municipality are Gligo Castle, located on the shady side of the Bobovišća bay, protected as a cultural heritage of the Republic of Croatia<, small island of Mrdulja located at the entrance to the harbour, Stone Bridge in Ložišća, The Three Sisters Tower, first school in Milna…

You will also see dry stone walls which are protected by UNESCO and stone field huts called bunje, built using the dry stone building technique.
